We're at a top secret location, with something really special - the Hyundai Ioniq 5 - and this hotly anticipated electric car doesn't disappoint.
It looks gorgeous, cool and smooth to drive, but it's sophisticated electronics and software that really make the Ioniq stand out. An inverter system allows you to boost charging and the car comes with a plug adaptor that you can charge pretty much anything from, including another car!
Built as an EV and resembling a 'hatchback on steroids', the Ioniq 5 is extraordinary and will be incredibly popular when it launches at the end of this year.

    • Genuine question for the show, what would you recommend to someone looking for a new car who does 100 miles a day on motorway (70-80mph) and 20 miles of non motorway (30-50mph) would this car be able to do this on one charge?

  • It’s a beautifully designed car with loads of great electronics and a lot of parts controlled by solenoids that for me potentially could go wrong. Would like to know the warranty time, but would be wary of anything less than 7 year warranty. Look forward to the next review of the car. Thanks for the video.

  • Tesla fanboys are always banging on about how "Tesla is [X] years ahead of the competition" (X = a number equal to the fanaticism of the fanboy) but it's ridiculous to claim that Ionic 5 is "years behind" Tesla. This is proper next gen stuff and the tech level is up there. Sorry T-fans, but the "old" car manufacturers really are catching up.

    SeybertoothSeybertooth3 dager siden
    • I doubt it is more than 10 minutes behind Tesla EXCEPT for self driving technology which may be 15 years away from regulators being comfortable.

      phoareyphoarey3 dager siden
  • The Ioniq 5 and EV6 (if they deliver on the range promised) will make every other EV in its price range seem outdated. The Mach-E with its 55-minute 80% charge and 1.5 hour 0-90% charge is just laughable next to the Ioniq and EV6 offering an 80% charge in only 18-minutes. That is incredible and makes even the Model Y and 3 look like last generation old school EVs. I also really like the Ioniq 5’s styling. It’s like an old Lancia Delta Integrale, just a modern take on it. Model Y looks like a big ugly Prius with some Model 3 design cues. The only thing I don’t like is that the wheel wells impede some of your trunk width and being the owner of a Model 3 Performance, I’d want more power. Hopefully there’s an Ioniq 5 N that borrows the EV6 GT’s higher performance motors.
