When I was offered the opportunity to beta test an upcoming robotic arm from Tormach, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. CNC chainsaws baybeeeeee. Aside from being fundamentally awesome, it is a very interesting software problem. Since I didn't have to build the arm I was able to focus the project and the video on the software challenges of making something like this work. Thank goodness I didn't have to build the arm because the software almost killed me. I can imagine all kinds of next steps for this creation like machining textures with the chainsaw or cutting topiaries. I hope you like it!

Hey man what’s the website called where that bear is for sale??
What app do you use for the drawings on your Ipad
Oi@aswinn aswinn
10:42 could you have a lazer scanner? It might sounds bizarre and easier said than done but there was a video about people moving sand here and there to create hills and then the computer will read the height and create a terrain map on the plane.
:55 you are famous. 3 seconds in this montage
At 10:44 maybe you could have tried simulated annealing to fix that problem, but you probably knew this and figured it was bad for some reason
14:34 qual o vídeo do Brasil?? BRBRBRBR
Gör en adapterplatta för att fästa den i bordet!
make a automatic chess bot
GUYS, I FOUND IT! THE APP HE'S USING ON THE IPAD IS CALLED CONCEPTS. (FREE TO DOWNLOAD ON ALL IOS DEVICES BTW)
11:10 I've seen your welding and fabrication skills... Keep practicing ;)
You definitely posses the skills
9:50 love it. You know you're working on something intently when you need to bandage "boo boos". Lol
Need a Stihl, first of all and use a belt saw for tree climbers who trim branches. Much smaller bar and snout and plenty powerful to mill much more precisely... What we call a "one hander". Buuuut, you need to stop and sharpen chains or replace already sharp ones. You can angle a saw anyway you want, honestly.
Anyone else think combine chainsaw death arm with giant bayblade of death
Maybe ripley felt the same way in alien 3, when she meets her former selfs..
Based on your unpickable lock, could you try to make a tool that picks any lock for you. love to see this video. Love watching your channel!!
Now I really want a useless block.
Amazing , You could change logs for ICE and make it create ice sculptures!
[7:32] cant .......breathe........
You are insanely brilliant 🖖🙂 live long and prosper
"I optimized it so hard it didnt compute anything" I want to bring this joke to my boss if I fail next time.
hanoi
Your self depreciation never ceases to crack me up. Thanks for inspiring and entertaining with your projects!
Cool. What drawing software are you using?
The Brazilian Dog Dancing KKKKKKKK não esperava ver isso no video
I'm mad at NOtown for not suggesting this channel to me sooner.
hey, my cim teacher shows your videos each day at the start of class, and everyone finds them enjoyable and entertaining. Could you maybe give Our teacher Mr. Dennes a shoutout from Wilson highschool.
Shane "I'm sure you have seen a CNC machine run" Me "Yea from you"
How is it allowed to be this smart. Man needs a nerf
your chains loose that is also why its not cutting well
Good job! Probably doesn’t help that your using a pole saw to try carve out a large piece of timber!
you can find the highest peak by throwing several guesses at the beginning of the process
Can you swap out the chainsaw for a router?
I have one of the apple peeler
It'd be cool if you put a Milling bit on the end of it and have all different sizes at the machine can pick up I bet you could mail yourself anything you want including that bear
You're like me but with twice as many skill points
I hope he takes that robot arm and uses it to make his automatic pool stick vs strangers, fully automatic
Vim pelo davy jones Brazil
Steepest Ascend hillclimbing with random restarts
What app dose he yes
No fair, you have all the fun toyz!
14:31 tem o meme do cachorro dançando com menino kkkk Gostei da referência
First idea I had when I saw this was use a drill bit and 3D model - first search result - notown.info/two/video/uMt9po6Am89h1Mk.html Is there something I missed ? notown.info/two/video/zsybnIyAn5aKkac.html
send the lock to lockpicking lawyer
When the robopocalypse happens and the robots have chainsaw arms, I'm blaming you.
So can u cut a bare out of a human?
wasteing wood? (idc btw jk)
I was making a KiwiCo kit while watchjng
anyone know what ipad app he uses?
The chain looked very slack and give it a sharpen and it may cut better
Dude you should make a safe cracking machine like in this video notown.info/two/video/1Kmedmx6grSYyq8.html
Brasil!!!!!!
Quem veio pelo Dava???
Cadê os BR kkkkk
Tony stark in a nutshell 🤣
Einstein's son
Subscribed, ur simply brilliant bruh.
carai
Alguém aq veio pelo vídeo do Davy Jones? Kkkkkkkkkkk
Vim pelo davy jones
don’t really know if it would work but just spit balling but what if you just made a cylindrical chainsaw but instead of spikes it was really gritty sand paper it would work on the same structure on the spinning shaft and at the end it was an upside down bowl with the same sand paper on it.
Why doest he just program it in a software how he would like to cut the log like at the begining with the metal he is jzst complicating things
I am sure you could make it all automatic and sell the bears all day long and make hella profit it just takes time to set it all up
You remind me of Joe Pera. Not a bad thing, just can't help but hear him in your videos. lol
I don't quite understand how you would use a rapidly exploring random tree for this problem. I understood this approach for path planning, but I don't see how it would apply for taking consecutive cuts from a square.
14:29 thought i was the only one who listened to dance till your dead while programming xD
a bunch of balls in an array would be less likely to find a false summit
How much that robot arm cost?
this guy is genius
U are a genius.....i so jealous.why are i so stupid
Dancing pug tho
She made a cat
Can someone tell me what tablet is he using?
My BS pole saw chainsaw also nearly refuses to cut wood. I think it's just a really poor blade design. (Maybe on purpose to prevent injury or something?) I think to know how fast you can cut into wood, you'd need to constantly measure the chainsaw temperature and slow down if too hot, and constantly lubricate it. Also, your gradient decent stuff seems very similar to regular machine learning. Have you considered turning this into a sort of game, then getting the machine learning to beat the game? (Where the score is based on how much of the final model is isolated/trimmed perfectly. Then, negative score is given for making wrong cuts. That way, it can even learn things like the size of the blade and such.) Also, if you're not an expert at all this machine learning stuff, have you considered posting the problem on Kaggle (with a reward) and letting the internet crowdsource a way to perfectly cut using this chainsaw? This seems like a machine learning problem where there is a definite solve-able thing. (That's not always the case with machine learning.)
can we just appreciate his reference to taylor swift at 16:26??!
This is cool and all but when the LPL collab
What about the lock for LockPickingLawyer??
This is such a cool project! The problem you had with the blade not beeing able to dive into the wood could probably be fixed by using a carving blade. The tip geometry there is different (its pointy) to be able to "stab into" the wood without kickbacks. Also please have a better look on your chain tension (it was very lose at the videos end) as you will otherwise kill someone randomly by a chain flying around.
Hello What happened to the lock challenge im looking forward for what you will make
“I’m sure there’s someone really smart that can make this thing work.” Bruh you’re like the smartest person on earth.
I think he's talking about the .001%, ie: Tesla
Safety chain! 🤣🤣🤣
dude, you have the coolest toys. very entertaining! (not an anti kickback tooth tho)
15:25 here is how to make your code go yeeeeeeet
What's the name of the sketchboard app used on the ipad?
Now make one that makes stone statues
You should make a controller where it automatically adjusts your car to the racing line on a racing game
wait...Your sponsor doesn't make industrial robot arms? That's what I'm in the market for.
I absolutely love your channel. I think of you as a genius.
Is your wife stoned?
Local man drills hole in floor to be able to cut a bear out of wood, only for it to catch fire and burn his house.
"...make it really hard to read and probably break it." Hahaha...story of my life, man. This is why, whenever I get ANYTHING working, I'm SUPER reluctant to touch it again.
What app do you use for making your rough sketches and designs? I have been looking for one to use and haven't made up my mind yet, I find the one that you use to be very simple and convienient, Thanks, and awesome job with the videos!
@stuffmadehere Hello, I'm Brazilian and I'm curious: what were you listening to at 14:30 on that upper screen?
i feel like you should make a remote controlled soccer ball or a soccer ball that is rigged for your wife to lose
You should see if you can get an mlb player to use the baseball bat!!
I would love to see you make any superhero suit
5:30 wait what? I need to go google that because you're right, it is magic
Perhaps you can look into 'stochastic gradient descent'?
Anyone knows what's his drawing software ?
Ur dawg is a king
This mans power bill... Can’t even imagine
Waste of time. Nice fail. This was as dumb as your haircut machine. Why don’t do something useful like make a washer/dryer that folds clothes after drying.
Do it to a block of ice
Things you need to change for next time. Wood choice: Cedar! Its the only wood sculptors use because its the softest and easiest to cut. Also, you have to have OIL on your saw or else it will overheat every time. Love watching your vids.
