If there was a way to tag you I would.. Alec I'm a machinist, and the tip I have for when using the lathe is always apply oil with the hand opposite of the chuck that way the tip of the bottle will touch the chuck not your hand

I'm sure others have said it but just incase. They make pen kits for diy pen makers. You wouldn't have had to tear apart that pen. Also the kits can be a much better grade them store pens.

Alec please make a Uk legal knife that is a good steel Cpm3v or similar, that has a sharpening choil for sharpening ....and a finger choil to protect our fingers, thumb studs or quick deployment for edc would be epic.....this is all for UK law sec 139....the tbs boar folder is a good reference and so is a kizer zipslip. Im sure you as a fellow Brit find our laws silly however....you can make a good UK edc?

Don’t let your arm or hand go over the headstock/chuck always lean over from the tail stock end if you need to. Maybe you need a pull down chuck guard as well.

Had the chuck on my midi-lathe hit one of my finger nails a couple months ago. And for 15 minutes, I was calling myself stupid then too. It definitely sucks🤣🤣
